1966 CHEVROLET CORVETTE COUPE

This is an extremely nice 1966 Corvette coupe, one of 9,958 produced in 1966 according to the Corvette Black Book. Car has 59,992 original miles and is a verifiable 3 owner car. The car was bought new in Florida when the original owner returned from Vietnam. He was discharged, in Florida, bought the Corvette and drove it home to KY, where it has remained within for 30 miles of its original destination all its life. Here is the options list: 1966 corvette coupe A-01 soft ray all window tinted glass, A-82 headrests, G-81 posi rear 3:70 ratio, J-50 power brakes, K-66 transistor ignition (it actually works), L-79 327/350hp engine, M-21 close ratio 4 speed, N-32 teak steering wheel, N40 power steering, V-69 AM-FM stereo and much more… The original owner sold this car to the second owner in 1971. After driven the car infrequently for many years, the second owner took the car to a well known body shop and the car was totally stripped to bare fiberglass and repainted. The engine was removed from the car so it could be cleaned and detailed as was the engine compartment. All rubber items around the doors and door jams was replaced as was the bumpers and all the chrome trim. The owner had the body shop add a 3rd tail light at the time as that was his preference and a popular modification in past years. After the car was done the owner finally decided it was too nice for him to drive, so he covered it and stored it in his garage for several years before selling it to the 3rd owner which was a cousin to the 2nd owner. The 3rd owner bought the car in 2002. He replaced the original valve stem seals, and the valve springs, which he felt was necessary, since the car had been drove very little in the past years!! he also removed the transmission and replaced the original clutch with a new Centerforce clutch. He cleaned the bellhousing and transmission and painted them clearcoat lacquer at this time. According to the Corvette Black Book the car with vin# 106780 was built in late Nov 1965. The build code on the block is K-12-5 which translates to Nov. 12, 1965. The block casting is 3858174 and the stamping in the front pad of the block is F1116HT. The HT suffix stands for 327ci - 350hp and manual transmission. The other stamping is 6106780 which match the last numbers of the vin #. The original Holley carb has been replaced but all the deep groove pulleys on the alt, water pump and damper are there. The engine starts and runs great, has outstanding oil pressure, with no smoke or noises!!! The car has never wrecked body with no cracks or chips in the paint!! the frame is a perfect rust free KY frame. The 3rd owner installed all new exhaust, new carpeting, and new leather covers for the seats!!! It has new Mastercraft radial tires and a set of 7" 1967 style Rally wheels with small caps. All dash gauges work properly with the exception of the clock. All lights work and the headlight doors work fine. You can be totally assured that you are buying a rare 1966 Stingray, collector kept since new and it is in immaculate mint condition with absolutely no apologies. Thanks for your sincere interest.
